Our role Schréder is a belgian company (hurray!) but also one of the leading companies in public lighting solutions worldwide. Energy consumptions and light pollution have a big impact on our world and Schréder worked really hard these last couple of years to develop unique solutions to add some kind of artificial intelligence to their products. For « Light+Building" fair in Frankfurt (Germany) they challenged us to help them to better explain those technologies to their partners and customers.
Our solution No matter how simple is your idea, how obvious your technology breakthrough is, if you are unable to explain and illustrate it to people, it can’t really take off. When Schréder explained us how their new solutions were working, we knew we would have to find an effective, quick-to-understand and visual approach to convince the huge number of visitors of « Light+Building » to stop by Schréder booth. We wanted something simple but yet eye-catching and immersive. Thanks to the great illustrators and animators we have at EPIC, we quickly realized that a cartoon animation would be the most suitable solution. We designed and animated an entire city to show Schréder solutions into effect. We then split this long animation into shorter ones and connect them all using a custom touchscreen interface. This resulted in an interactive experience that have been seen by thousands of visitors in a LED funnel installation. And this has already been adapted in 5 languages including Chinese.
